Situated in a prime South Kensington spot, The Ampersand is a perfectly positioned bolt-hole from which to explore pet-friendly London. Do as the Londoners do and grab a coffee (or super juice!) from one of the many eateries around South Kensington, and take the 10 minute stroll from the hotel to magnificent Hyde Park. Here, your pup can roam free (just use a lead near the lakes to avoid any geese-dispersing dips!).
Kensington Gardens adjoin Hyde Park as you walk west, so enjoy a stroll around the royal surroundings, and gaze across the Round Pond to the Palace the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge call home. Make sure your pooch keeps a nose to the ground for HRH Lupo. Alternatively, leave Hyde Park at its south east point, Hyde Park Corner. Then stroll down from Green Park into St James Park, both of which welcome dogs with open arms, and take in the fantastic views of Horse Guards Parade, Westminster and the London Eye.
There are plenty of dog-friendly eateries on offer in our vibrant capital. Check out our Eat and Play pages, along with ‘Also in the Neighbourhood’ below, and you’ll be spoilt for activities to make an unforgettable getaway with your dog.

While driving in London can be a little on the busy side, should you wish to journey by car, although the hotel does not have its own car park, there is a private car park, Union Car Parks, a mere 2 minutes’ walk away (open 24 hours, but with no vehicle access overnight). The hotel is easily accessible off a main tributary into London, the A4, Cromwell Road.
The hotel’s prime position means it is ideal for exploring London’s delights, and easily accessible via London’s pet-friendly underground system. It is situated just a minute’s walk from South Kensington tube station, served by the Circle, Piccadilly and District lines. For visitors arriving into one of London’s mainline stations, hop on the tube, or black cabs are readily available (with most very happy to take your pup).
