Expect a plethora of eye catching artwork featuring man’s best friend, by Katharine Lightfoot, alongisde roaring fires, at this wysteria-covered, flagstone-floored country inn.
Stop by for an early morning coffee, or delight in the British classics for lunch or dinner. There are some intriguing lighter options on offer – try a duck crêpe with plum sauce, or truffle and cauliflower macaroni – as well as heartier dishes, including a game pie with seasonal vegetables, and moules marinière. Platters and hot boards are an enticing option if you just can’t choose – the steak board lets you sample three cuts of meat with a variety of sauces, including a whiskey jus.
Your dog can join you in the bar area, the lounge areas, and outside if the weather is on your side. You’ll find a bowl and treats to keep fido’s tail wagging.
Outside of lunch and dinner serving times, a selection of sandwiches are available all day. Tea and cake, along with a traditional afternoon tea, are served during the afternoons; the Champagne Afternoon Tea includes a glass of bubbly and bowl of fresh strawberries.
Dinner is served until 9.30pm, and the bar is open until 11pm.

Half an hour away by car is Woodstock, a charming old world town. Blenheim Palace sits at its heart, and dogs are welcome in the surrounding parkland. For younger visitors, the Cotswolds Wildlife Park is only 3 miles away, and your dog can accompany you on a lead through many of the attractions.
