The are six delightfully welcoming and uniquely decorated dog-friendly rooms available at The Bay Tree hotel, all with outside access.
Pet-friendly rooms start with Good Garden Rooms. Fresh and light, these doubles have French doors on to a Juliet balcony overlooking the hotel’s gardens. If you would like a separate seating area, try the Very Good Garden Rooms, which also come complete with balcony and garden view.
An Excellent Room is also on offer with our four-legged friends. This spacious room comes complete with antique furniture, lounge area and Nespresso machine.
Should you be after a place to hunker down with fido, try the Tanfield Room which along with its lounge area and flagstone flooring has a king sized bed and open log fire to warm your paws by.
Bring your walking shoes. Maps of local walks are available from reception, with the countryside a mere leap and a bound away.

The Bay Tree Restaurant oozes contemporary country chic, with artwork of hounds adoring the walls and views of the walled garden making this a place to relax and revive. Local ingredients are celebrated to deliver seasonal, British cooking, while the staff are on hand to pair your dishes with a wine selected from the restaurant’s wine wall.
While your pup can’t join you in The Bay Tree Restaurant, they are more than welcome to snuggle up at your feet in The Woolsack Bar, with cosy decor reminiscent of a country pub. Drinks, light bites, platters and hot boards, as well as an afternoon tea menu, will keep your tastebuds satisfied as you relax with fido.

Dogs are also welcome in the inviting lounge areas, a perfect place to hunker down with afternoon tea during the winter months next to the roaring fires. If you’re there in warmer climbs, adjourn with fido to the delightful gardens for tea and cake.
Sister venue The Lamb Inn, right next door, has a doggy menu available in their bar, so make your way over to give your pooch a real treat.
