At Ellenborough Park
Expect thoroughbred country living and picture perfect English countryside, plus there’s an extensive spa with a pool. Dog-friendly rooms include bespoke Hypnos beds with feather duvets and indulgent Egyptian cotton sheets, marble finish bathrooms complete with underfloor heating, and flatscreen TVs.
Delightful dog-friendly rooms are located in The Mews and Ellenborough Gate areas of the hotel.
The cosiest of the inviting rooms on offer, all inspired by their historic surroundings, are the Traditional Rooms, all of which come with king size beds.
A number of Classic Rooms are on offer for our four-legged companions. Larger than the Traditional Rooms, they have wonderful roll-top baths and walk-in showers, perfect to rest weary limbs after exploring the surrounding hills.
A special treat in order? Plump for a Luxury Room. With their period features, and luxurious decor embracing this time-honoured venue, many feature separate seating areas which can be transformed for private dining, perfect for dinner with fido.
For pampered pooches, a uniquely decorated suite is on offer, named after a famous thoroughbred who used to pound the grounds at the racecourse. Generous in size and furnishings, this is a prime place to hunker down for the weekend.
Fido (and you!) will delight in the majority of dog-friendly rooms being on the ground floor with their own outside access. Ask on booking for one of the rooms that come with direct access to its own patio, perfect for obligatory night time sniffs.
Human and hound abound
Watch the early morning mist clear over the racecourse as you explore the gentle slopes owned by the hotel, that lead directly to the racecourse. A well stocked boot room means there’s no need to bring the wellies, with every Countryfile fanatic’s favourite footwear, Dubarrys, on offer along with walking jackets. The concierge also has maps on hand for walks with your dog.
Relax and revive
A warm welcome awaits at the hotel’s spa, open daily from 9.30am to 6pm. Eastern and Western techniques are brought together to rejuvenate, throughout their 7 treatment rooms. A spa jacuzzi pool, sauna, steam room, sensation showers and relaxation rooms are also on offer along with an outdoor heated pool, warm enough for even the coldest winter days – just remember to take one of the hotel’s big fluffy dressing gowns to keep you warm as you make the dash outside.
For those of you keen to burn off that afternoon tea, the hotel offers a Fitness Suite.
The extra bits
Your pooch can join you in the Atrium to keep score for a board game, whilst you indulge in a cocktail or two.
This is the place to be during the Cheltenham Gold Cup, where you can hear (and see!) the action directly from the hotel’s grounds. Book early!
