At The Close Hotel

Warm and cosy furnishings blend both comfort and elegance throughout. Low ceilings and dark-wooden features add a country house feel, and eye-catching artwork featuring man’s best friend, by Katharine Lightfoot, adorns the walls from the restaurant to the bedrooms. Dog-friendly rooms include big comfy beds, Molton Brown toiletries and homemade flapjacks.

Pawfect slumbers

The dog-friendly rooms at The Close blend classic country style with a contemporary edge, with each room having its own individual design.

Good Rooms come as a twin or double. They are the cosiest in the hotel but still provide a comfortable base for you and fido to enjoy the countryside surrounds. Very Good Rooms are more generously-sized, with most having beautiful garden views.

A dog bed, bowl and treats will be waiting for fido on arrival.

You’ll find plenty a friendly pooch as you step out for an afternoon stroll around Tetbury. With boundless Cotswolds’ countryside to explore, pack fido’s coat and your Dubarrys ready to hit the walking trails.

The extra bits

The back entrance to the hotel opens straight onto the adjoining terrace and garden where your dog can stretch his legs first thing.

Where We Are

The ancient market town of Tetbury is right on your doorstep and perfect for a morning or afternoon stroll before you venture further into the surrounding countryside; you’ll find plenty a shop or cafe welcoming to both human and hound.

A leap and a bound away, the Westonbirt Arboretum, a stunning collection of over 15,000 types of trees from all corners of the globe, makes for a pawtastic playground. Silk Wood, representing two thirds of the arboretum, is dog-friendly, so your four-legged friend will have plenty of space to chase a bird or two and partake in a game of fetch.

If you’re looking for a paw-stop for lunch while out and about, sister venue The Hare & Hounds Hotel will welcome you with open arms (and a few open paws) at dog-friendly Jack Hare’s Bar, a short drive away.
