Traditional grandeur is ever-present here, with fine fabrics, fresh flowers, antique furnishing and rare artworks scattered throughout the hotel. Dog-friendly rooms include WiFi, interactive TV with movies on demand, home-made cookies, chilled mineral water, hand-picked seasonal fruits, complimentary newspapers and Penhaligon’s toiletries.
You and fido can take your pick of any room or suite at The Milestone.
Superior Queen rooms are the smallest in the hotel at 16m² but still encapsulate the romantic elegance found in all of the rooms and suites. Deluxe Twin or King rooms are slightly larger, with a small seating area. Bigger still are the eight Deluxe Studio rooms on offer, each with a unique decorative theme, including Kensington Palace. Jacuzzi tubs can be found in select studios, and you’ll have complimentary canapés delivered to you each evening.
The hotel’s 12 suites are all individual in both name and style, with Junior, Master or Grand Master Suites on offer. The neutral stripes and shades of white of the Kensington Garden Suite (a Master Suite) have a grand country manor house feel, accompanied by spectacular views across Kensington Gardens through large floor-to-ceiling bay windows. The two Grand Master Suites offer maximum indulgence; if you and fido are happy with a balcony, choose the Hermes Suite, with its royal park views, or the gold and white hues and traditional rich oak panelling of the Tudor Suite. All suites offer complimentary mobile phones to use on your travels around the Capital, as well as 24 hour butler service.
For longer stays, or family visits, there are six two and three-bedroom apartments also on offer.
Fido will feel pampered like never before. Fill in their ‘pet preference form’ before your visit, and a tailor-made welcome hamper will greet you on arrival, including a toy, treat and Milestone tag. You’ll also have a choice of custom-made Milestone Hotel dog beds, cushions, duvets and floor mats, food and water bowls. Keep an eye out in the evenings too – turndown treats aren’t just for humans!
This city is made for walking, so pack some flats that will keep you looking stylish, as well as feeling great all day. Head straight across the road to Kensington Palace Gardens and you’ll find plenty of promenading pooches – fido might even find a friend to join you all for afternoon tea.
After a day in bustling Central London, what better way to wind down than with a soothing treatment in one of The Milestone’s spa rooms, using products from SOTHYS. A selection of therapies are also available 24 hours a day within the comfort of your hotel room.
The wellbeing facilities are open from 8am to 11pm and include a resistance pool, gym and sauna. There is also the opportunity to book private sessions with the in-house personal trainer and yoga instructor.
With 24 hours notice, The Milestone can organise dog-sitting and dog-walking. Grooming can also be arranged in advance. It’s not just the pooches who can hang out here – cats are just as welcome at The Milestone, and litter trays, cat food bowls and toys can be provided.
If you are both in need of a treat, why not hire one of the hotel’s chauffeur-driven Bentleys for the day to see the sights.
Inter-connecting rooms are available for families. Special beds and bedding, including cots, mini bathrobes and slippers are offered as well as baby intercoms. Nanny services can also be booked in advance.
Chenaston’s Restaurant, is charmingly traditional in character, but serves an enticing and innovative menu focused on contemporary British cuisine. The wine menu here boasts over 300 vintages. While fido can’t join you, he is welcome in the adjoining Oratory, which provides a private dining space all day for up to eight guests.
If you’re dining with fido, relax into an armchair and enjoy the bar menu in the al fresco ambience of the bright and airy Conservatory. You and fido can also enjoy The Milestone’s delicious afternoon tea here. Expect exquisitely hand-made finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones, and a selection of pastries to satisfy your sweet tooth – don’t forget a glass of champagne, if you please. Book ahead so you and fido can grab your favourite spot.
Stables Bar offers lighter bites and sandwiches all day, as well as a selection of late night dining options from 11pm to 7am. After a long day on your feet, drop in for a much needed sit down and a taste of their signature cocktail, The Old Fashioned, made from whisky that has been barrel-aged for 60 days in Canadian maple syrup and vodka. Fido can’t join you here, so leave him to have a snooze or adjourn with your drink to the Conservatory next door.
Room service is available 24 hours a day, with a reduced menu after 10.30pm. There’s also a doggy menu if you want to order dinner for your pooch.
Fancy dining in the park during the summer months? Pre-order afternoon tea or an afternoon feast and it will be specially prepared, so you can both enjoy a view of the royal palace while you eat.
Just a few tail-wags from the start of the adjoining royal parks, which span the western part of Central London, you’ll both love using The Milestone as a paw-base for exploring this pet-friendly city.
Head over the road to Kensington Palace Gardens and grab a juice from one of the eateries in the park; enjoy a stroll around the royal surroundings, and gaze across the Round Pond to the Palace the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge call home. Make sure your pooch keeps a nose to the ground for HRH Lupo.
If you fancy venturing a little further afield, head east into adjoining Hyde Park. Continue your stroll down to Green Park and into St James Park, all of which welcome dogs with open arms and take in the fantastic views of Horse Guards Parade, Westminster and the London Eye. There are plenty of dog-friendly eateries on offer in our vibrant capital. For inspiration see our dog-friendly London destination page.
