For a little more luxury, opt for a King. Three King room types are available, with the Executive King the most spacious of the three, boasting a comfortable seating area. For the next level up, opt for a Royal room, with each room regally-themed in honour of British monarchs of the past. For optimal space and elegance, opt for a Suite. With four levels of suite available to discerning dogs and their human companions, from Junior Suites to the Master Suite, you’ll both delight in added luxuries including complementary daily canapés, luxury Penhalligon toiletries, Nespresso machines, and space for additional guests. For longer stays, there are also two apartments available.
Fill in your pet-preference form before you arrive, and fido should prepare to be treated like a king at The Rubens. On arrival, he’ll find a welcome hamper complete with dog bed, bowl, treats, personalised do-not-disturb card, and a doggy menu ready and waiting.

Guests have access to the H2 gym in Victoria, including classes, which can be booked up to a week in advance. For something a little different, the hotel managers are on hand as ‘sports buddies’ should you fancy a game of tennis or spot of horse riding with a companion.

Recently refurbished, The English Grill is fido-friendly and the culinary heart of the hotel. Expect opulent grandeur, polished silver and tailcoat waiters as you enjoy a traditional English feast. There is a daily pie and daily roast always available.
For a slightly more relaxed setting, opt to dine at the South-African themed bbar & restaurant, adjacent to the hotel. Mixing safari chic and colonial cool, the menu includes intriguing dishes such as Springbok fillet and grilled Boerewors sausages. Classic burgers and more traditional plates are also on offer, with over 50 wines by the glass, and an extensive cocktail list, alongside. If the weather is on your side, there is a terrace to enjoy too.
The Cavalry Bar, at the rear of the hotel, is a relaxing and welcoming meeting place after a day on the town. Cocktails are mixed with meticulous attention to detail, there is live jazz every day, and a light bar menu is also on offer here.
The luxurious red decor and striking furnishings continue into the Palace Lounge. Sink into your decadent surrounds as you enjoy afternoon tea with views of the Royal Mews.
If bubbles are your thing, the Leopard Champagne Bar is a must. More intimate than the hotel’s other spaces, the decor is themed as its name would suggest. Expect up to 30 champagnes by the glass to tempt your tastebuds as you toast a royally wonderful stay.

Admire Buckingham Palace’s beauty as you enter the parks, just a few minutes walk’ from the hotel’s grand entrance. Heading east will take you to St. James’s Park, where you can take in take in the fantastic views of Horse Guards Parade, Westminster and the London Eye. Heading north will take you through Green Park and into Hyde Park & Kensington Gardens – you’ll find acres of green spaces which will tire out even the most energetic of pooches.

The hotel is not far from the A4, the main route into London from the West. Be aware that it is just inside the congestion charging zone, so a fee will be due for each day of your stay during the week. Valet parking is available at a secure car park at a cost of £40 per 24 hours, and is available daily from 8am to 8pm.
The hotel’s location is excellent for both arriving by rail, and for getting out and about and exploring London’s further flung delights. Victoria Station is less than five minutes’ walk from the hotel, and is serviced by the District, Circle and Victoria lines, as well as fast trains from Gatwick Airport.
