Facilities

At The Wild Rabbit

Tasteful and understated throughout, there is a sprinkling of Daylesford magic here that values the good things in life, and is well made with love, respect and care. Dog-friendly rooms include handmade 6’6″ king-sized beds, Volga linen, iPod docking stations, Nespresso machines, WiFi, Bamford toiletries and handmade biscuits.

Pawfect slumbers

There are four dog-friendly rooms available, as well as three beautiful cottages. Owl, Hare and Otter, which are all Small Doubles, are decorated in muted hues with just the occasional splash of artfully-placed colour. These rooms are arranged as doubles, but are available as twins by prior request, and all have full-sized baths, with overhead showers.

Standard Double, Mole, is also available for our canine companions. Offering similar accommodation to the Small Doubles but with a touch more space, it also has a mini-bar (as does Hare).

The Beehive is a self-contained cottage complete with king-sized bed, and additional sofa bed should you and fido with you stay with a friend or two. There is a living room, wood burning stove and small kitchen, as well as a private terrace.

The two Moat cottages, No.9 and No. 10, are a short walk away, and a perfect home-away-from-home in the sleepy village of Kingham. Sleeping up to four, they offer the option of full self-catering, and can also be interconnected for larger groups. Breakfast can be arranged at The Wild Rabbit for an additional charge should you wish to start your day in style.

Fido will quickly sniff out the bed, bowl and treats left for him in your room. Be sure to request a bed when booking if you need one.

Human and hound abound

The small village of Kingham, in which The Wild Rabbit is located, is surrounded by countryside, full of long grasses and sniff-tastic smells for your pooch to enjoy. Don your Dubarrys and head out explore. Reception will be happy to point you in the direction of a local footpath.

Relax and revive

While there isn’t a spa on site, Bamford Haybarn Spa is within walking distance and well worth the wander, bringing a sense of serenity in its chic country surrounds. Make sure you book in advance. Yoga, pilates and meditation classes are on offer, as well as facials, massages and body treatments, using only natural ingredients.

Food and Drink

Hotel restaurant

The Dining Room, with its simple, contemporary style and a touch of Scandinavian chic, is designed to celebrate food and its guests, with its open kitchen delivering a shared experience around the creation of your dishes. Using exceptional ingredients, with a passion for supporting British farmers and artisan producers, many ingredients are picked fresh from their own garden every morning.

The Dining Room serves seasonal British cuisine and celebrates traditional fare, brought bang up to date by Executive Chef, Tim Allen, to whom a Michelin star was awarded here in October 2016.

The menu is constantly evolving, but expect such delights as pork jowl and hand dived scallop, served with truffle purée, crispy pork and Granny Smith apple, Daylesford organic lamb with new season courgettes and flower, and English Cox apple, with caramel and custard ice cream and crispy puff pastry.

Be sure to book in advance; The Dining Room is very popular for visitors and locals alike.

Hotel bar

While dogs are not allowed in The Dining Room, they can dine with you in The Bar, where they will be sure to ensconce themselves in front of one of the roaring fires after a walk on a winter’s day.

Château Léoube wine is served from Daylesford’s very own French vineyard, along with offerings from small independent vineyards, plus artisan beers.

The Bar and Terrace menu for lunch and dinner is short but sweet, with tempting treats such as avocado carpaccio with pumpkin seed and sunflower granola, and mackerel with cucumber various ways and jersey royals.

You can’t book in the bar, so if dining with fido, just head on down and find a spot.

At your service

Room service is not available, but it’s no hardship to wander to The Bar, or head out into the delightful Cotswolds’ surrounds.

The extra bits

There is a large dog-friendly terrace where you can dine from The Bar menu in the summer, that you and your pooch will both enjoy.
