At Hotel 41

Bold black and white furnishings stand out in every room, while the subtle lighting and warmer touches still give a nod to the old London roots here. Dog-friendly rooms include luxurious Savoir beds, rich mahogany furniture, Sky TV, WiFi, Penhaligon’s toiletries, plush bathrobes, treats and 24-hour butler service.

Pawfect slumbers

You and fido can take your pick from the 30 elegant rooms and sumptuous suites.

Executive Double and Executive King rooms blend old-world hospitality with contemporary style and on-the-pulse technology. You’ll enjoy the Bose music system, as well as the opulent marble bathrooms.

For a real treat, opt for a Suite. Homely but with style, Junior Suites are split-level, with a bedroom upstairs and an inviting lounge area underneath. All feature open fireplaces. Executive Suites feel even more roomy, with two entrances – one to the bedroom area, and one to the lounge – perfect for creating a separate meeting space to entertain.

Our pick has to be the Conservatory Master Suite, overlooking the Royal Mews. Similar in style and features to the other suites, this room has one feature all to itself – a fully glass-topped ceiling above the bed. Whether it’s to gaze at passing clouds, or the twinkling night sky above, there’s no-where else quite like it. There are electric blinds to ensure a good night’s sleep, as well as a luxurious double whirlpool bath.

Fill in your pet-preference form before you arrive, and fido should prepare to be treated like a king. On arrival, he’ll find a welcome hamper complete with dog bed, bowl, treats, personalised do-not-disturb card, and a doggy menu ready and waiting.

Human and hound abound

Hotel restaurant

The dog-friendly Executive Lounge is the heart of the hotel – providing a private members’ club feel, with exceptional hotel service. The food is elegant, with an emphasis on British home-cooked favourites, fitting in with the relaxed atmosphere – munch on a stone-baked pizza, enjoy a warming plate of Mrs Tollman’s chicken pot pie, or chow down with some traditional beer-battered fish and chips. A delightfully English afternoon tea is served during the afternoons.

If you can drag yourself away, why not dine at dog-friendly The English Grill at sister hotel The Rubens at the Palace next door, or opt for some South African themed cuisine with fido at their more relaxed eatery, bbar.

Hotel bar

At Hotel 41, the bar is always open. Take your pick from the champagne trolley, make your favourite tipple from the Honesty Bar, or ask one of the charming staff members to whip up a more adventurous creation while you and your pooch settle in.

For a stunning selection of champagnes, pop to The Leopard Bar at The Rubens at the Palace next door.
