What was once an unassuming hotel in a 19th Century manor house has undergone a dramatic transformation in recent decades; Pennyhill Park is now an expansive, luxurious country retreat for humans and hounds, in beautiful Surrey surrounds. The peaceful country resort feel of the extensive, dog-friendly grounds will pull you in, and the award-winning spa and delectable dining offerings will be sure to make you want stay for longer than a day or two. With sweeping paw-spots to explore, and doggy room service as an added treat, there’s many a reason for your pup to come and play too.

At Pennyhill Park

Bright, bold wallpapers bring a homely feel to the expansive grandeur at this country estate, which still offers many a hiding spot to enjoy the quiet and calm of its home counties’ canvas. Dog-friendly rooms include Sky TV, WiFi, seating areas, bespoke bathrooms, handmade mattresses and original decorative features.

Pawfect slumbers

Take your paw-pick from any of the room categories on offer at Pennyhill Park to stay with your pooch, as well as a number of suites.

Cosy rooms are the babies of the bunch, but you’ll enjoy their comfortable locale, and the walk-in showers, for a shorter stay with your pup. Traditional rooms offer both baths and showers in the carefully-designed bathrooms, more space than the Cosy’s, and are styled as their name suggests, with an iPod dock added as an additional modern touch.

Classic Junior Suites offer exceptional amenities, including underfloor heating for chilly winter stays, and are individually decorated in a style befitting of the hotel’s country house history, with some featuring enticing four-poster or colonial feature beds. The Plush Junior Suite has a contemporary design, with a terrace leading out on to the golf course so you pup can enjoy bounding around. There is one even more spacious Suite available, which will add a touch more luxury, including a super king-sized bed, Nespresso coffee machine and Aquavision TV. A suite stay also provides unlimited spa access, late check-out, a round of golf, and an in-room butler service.

Fido will be delighted to find his very own pamper package ready and waiting in the room, complete with welcome letter, dog bed, bowl, feeding mat and treats.

Human and hound abound

You needn’t go far; Pennyhill Park offers an abundance of space for humans and hounds to explore within its grounds, and your pooch will be pulling on that lead in no time waiting to see all that the hotel has to offer inquisitive paws.

Relax and revive

R&R is what the in-the-know humans come to Pennyhill Park for. Such is the scale of the spa, it could pass for a country hotel in itself, with outstanding facilities drawing in day guests and residents alike. There are no fewer than eight indoor and outdoor pools (enjoy the underwater music in the Ballroom Pool and float your cares away), as well as an advanced thermal sequencing experience, and a full range of spa treatments.

In sunnier weather, retreat to a welcoming sun lounger and you’ll be transported to Surrey’s version of the South of France. Enjoy the spa’s facilities from 3pm on your day of arrival, and be sure to book any spa treatments well in advance, as the facilities are extremely popular.

If you’ve still got some energy after a few laps in the pool, there is a nine-hole golf course where you can practice your swing, as well as a tennis court, gym and croquet lawn.

The England Rugby Union team also train on site, so keep an eye out for a player or two.

The extra bits

Children are welcome to stay, but are not permitted in the spa; they are allowed to use the outdoor pool, except between the hours of noon and 2pm.

Food and Drink

Hotel restaurants

The Latymer is Pennyhill Park’s fine dining delight. Tantilising tasting menus feature bold and beautiful dishes, and locally-sourced produce, with their method of “taking the best ingredients through complicated processes” creating powerful yet simple plates.

The Brasserie has had a recent refurb, and now rivals the buzzy brasseries of the Kings Road, with neutral furnishings and exposed brickwork adding some cool to the country vibe. The menu is very much relaxed brasserie-style (think chickpea fritters, or teriyaki-glazed pork belly), with the focus here on interactive dining – there are mobile cooking stations, and diners are encouraged to assist in the selection of their dish’s ingredients.

The spa also has its own eatery, Thermis, with its fresh, healthy and organic dishes a perfect compliment to the tranquil haven within.

Hotel bar

One of the most vibrant rooms in the old house, The Ascot Bar provides a relaxing place for a pause, by night and by day. A lighter menu, including sandwiches, sharing boards and salads, is served from noon until late. There is a sumptuous afternoon tea menu which can be enjoyed here daily.

The Pool Bar, situated by the spa’s inviting outdoor pool, serves up some delicious options for a light lunch if you can’t bare to part with your lounger.

At your service

Room service is available 24 hours a day – and it’s not just for you. Treat your pooch to a delicious dinner of pan-friend chicken or beef steak with rice and a light gravy. That tail will be wagging in no time!

Where We Are

Step outside, and you’ll find 123 acres of woodland, parkland, gardens and terraces just waiting to be sniffed and explored. Meander to your heart’s content as you find a quiet spot to take a paws, or up the ante and take fido for a jog along one of the tracks or walking trails.

If you’re in the mood to explore, why not jump in the car and head south and enjoy a drive through the charming Surrey countryside. A very dog-friendly home county, pick a walking route to adventure down, and you’ll never be far from a charming village gastropub that will welcome your pooch with open arms.
